You must be over 13 years of age to join this website.
This website contains mature themes (sex, drugs, violence, etc...) If you are offended by this, please do not join. You have been warned.
Swearing is allowed, but try to keep it mild. If it becomes a problem you will be warned.

Membership Rules [of Doom]
Spamming is BAD. Don't do it or you'll be banned.
Keep the drama in the plots and with the characters. If you have a problem with another member, keep it off of the website, out of the c-box, and out of RPG posts. Abuse towards other members will not be tolerated.
If you're inactive for 40+ days without posting on the away board, your account will be deleted.
You have exactly one week from your account being created to post a character's biography or the account will be deleted.
You have exactly two weeks from your biography being accepted to post in an RPG thread or the account will be deleted.
You may not make a second account for another character until your post count has reached at least 100 on your first one. Remember, we can see your e-mails and IP addresses, we'll know if it's you.
If you want to have two characters share an account you must PM Bobbi to ask permission first and have a valid reason behind it.
Don't sign up for the celebrity claim, or any other sign ups until your biography has been accepted.
RPG Rules [of Doom]
Please keep the plot in mind while making posts so that everything makes sense. I don't want someone saying something like "I'm going to go see Dumbledore" when in the plot, he's dead.
Try and aim for two paragraphs minimum in RPG posts. Make it interesting. By a paragraph, we don't mean two sentences, a double space, and then two more lines, etc.
A paragraph should consist of 3-5 well-written sentences. Now, of course we all fall short sometimes, but in every post? Come on now!
To further help you out, here's a good example and a bad example of a paragraph.
A Good Paragraph:
The November day was blissfully cool, compared to the summer months that had passed not so long ago. Sitting in the Quidditch stands was a lone, male figure his black cloak pulled tightly around his figure. It'd been a long day of lessons and it was Ravyn's first break of the day. He'd decided to spend the break out on the Quidditch pitch, perhaps envisioning his next great save to win the match. A smile crossed the boy's pale lips as these thoughts crossed his mind.
Notice how neither the words 'he or his' are over-used. Ravyn's name is also not over-used. The sentences contain enough description and subject matter for someone to formulate a decent reply.
A Bad Paragraph:
Celine stood all alone in the library. Celine was very bored and she had decided to skip a lesson.
Celine took a book off the shelf and then put it back. She did not feel like reading.
Celine wished someone else would come in so she could have someone to talk to. She was very bored.
The character's name is over-used here, and the subject matter is basically a repetition of itself. The sentences are short, choppy, and uninteresting.
Regarding Mature posts: If you plan on starting a thread that will have mature content please put "[Mature]" or "[M]" in the thread title, and put a note at the TOP of the FIRST POST in that thread. Put it in BOLD so that it will stand out.
What would we classify as a mature thread? Anything that would increase the rating of a film.. Sexual themed material, heavy swearing, extreme violence, etc/
You should also use the spoiler tool. Can be handy if it's the only mature part of the entire thread.
Example:
[spoiler]This is an example of the spoiler tool. This way mature parts of posts can only be viewed if we really want to see them.[/spoiler]
Mature content can be implied. If you want to read/write smut go somewhere else.
I don't care if your character has sex with every other character they come into contact with, but you can't go into details about the act itself. Think about like... a PG-13 rated movie. When there's a sex sequence you usually just see a few pieces of clothing come off, then it skips to the end.

Okay? So skip to the end. If you want to write detailed smut, do it through PM or e-mail, I don't want it on this site.

SPELL CHECK
Is an amazing invention PLEASE use it and read over posts before posting.
If your inability to spell or use proper grammar interferes with our ability to read your post, you will be warned and eventually deleted/banned.
Your character can NOT talk about what happened in another thread that they were NOT in.
Example: Nicolette Morgues murders Harvery Bungarus and Quinn McKinleigh helps her get rid of the body. Only Nicolette Morgues, Quinn McKinleigh, and Harvey Bungarus were in this thread, therefore unless your character was told by one of these three characters that it happened, then you don't know about it. You can't say a ghost was there and told you, you can't say you overheard a painting saying so, none of that unless someone in that thread has specifically given you permission to do so.
The only exception I can think of is if you want your character to find another character's journal. You may only do this if you have permission with the person whose character's journal is being read.

Please don't make abnormally perfect characters [aka Mary Sues]
If you want to be a vampire or werewolf PM us. We will think about it and let you know if you can be or not.
No mind reading, or any other powers that would give your character an unfair advantage over other characters. Again, if you desperately want/need this power, PM us. I don't want to read a profile and see "Has the ability to fly without a broom" when I didn't okay it, all right?
There will be no cannon characters from the book on this website. You can't register to be Harry, you can't register to be Mr. Weasley, or anyone else. This site is for original characters, and I'm not gonna buy the whole "I'm Bellatrix and Voldie's lovechild" thing. No. If you're not creative enough to come up with an original character on your own, then why are you on a website dedicated to creative writing?
Don't kill off, hex, or physically harm in any way any characters without their permission. Violation of this rule is Godmoding.
Please be original. We can't all be orphans. We can't all be American Transfer students. We can't have all had our parents die tragically at a young age. Okay? It's been done way too much.

Max size for an avatar is 100x100 pixels
Signatures should not exceed 500x400 pixels
Signatures/Avatars/MP Backgrounds cannot include nudity or racist content of any kind.
